Tributes have poured in for the show stalwart, who was diagnosed with a rare form of stomach cancer in December.
He was married and had a one-year-old son.
Those who worked with the former Elizabeth College student to organise the annual show described him as 'lovely and humble' and someone who always thought of others before himself.
Others who knew him said Mr Marquis had dealt with his sudden illness in an incredibly brave way.
