Michael Ozanne, 74, appeared in the Magistrate's Court yesterday charged with the unlicensed possession of shotguns and ammunition. He entered no plea to three charges.

He was not granted bail by Judge Philip Robey, who urged the defendant to help the police in locating any further guns and ammunition before his next court appearance tomorrow.

Judge Robey told the court that the presence of any unlicensed guns and ammunition in Guernsey was always of high concern.

The charges relate to addresses at greenhouse vineries in St Andrew's and the Forest.

'The only person that knows where all the weapons and ammunition sit is Mr Ozanne himself,' said Judge Robey.

He said that he would make a provision that if Mr Ozanne made a 'full disclosure' to the police's satisfaction, the defendant could return to the court earlier.
