Museum tidies storage 'attic'

GUERNSEY'S 'attic' has been getting a complete overhaul.

Published

Over the last four years, Culture and Leisure staff have been working to transform the museum storage facilities in St John Street, St Peter Port.

Pieces have started going back into the final part of the site to get a facelift – the large objects store in the former police garage. The items kept in the building are quite large and heavy, but do not need temperature-controlled facilities.

They include a church organ, a pre-Napoleonic mortar, a stack of cannon balls and resin from the Asterix Roman wreck.
