Rubis (Fuel Supplies CI Ltd) marketing and communications manager Nick Crolla said forecourt prices were now at a similar level to late- 2010.

The news comes as both Hill Engineering and Barras Convenience Store in the Vale decreased their unleaded prices to under £1 a litre this weekend. Newsagent Bill Dunne, pictured, thought prices should be a lot lower.

The Channel Islands Co-operative Society also announced it was set to drop its unleaded price to 99.9p at all its Guernsey petrol stations from today.
