Royal couple send thanks for George's Treasure book

A ROYAL letter from Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge has 'thrilled' a Guernsey children's author and local charity which sent a signed book to their son Prince George.

The book, Grandpa's Treasure, by the Rev. Linda Le Vasseur, was sent to Prince George as a special Christmas present from Guernsey and the royal couple sent their 'warmest thanks and best wishes' back to the island.

The book is being sold to raise money for Health Information Guernsey and it was director of services Wendy Beaven who came up with the idea of giving a copy to the young prince.

Mrs Le Vasseur, who said it was her 14th book, each sold for a charity, and she was thrilled to have received a reply from the royal couple.

'It is a bit of an honour,' she said. 'Prince George is a bit young to read it, but I like the idea of him sitting there and his mum explaining.'

'She could be sat with him on her lap, saying, "Oh look they are playing conkers.".'
