Locum to help out suspended doctor

A GUERNSEY-based locum has come to the aid of suspended Alderney doctor Rory Lyons with what he hopes will be the first of a series of surgeries.

Dr Tony Lee, who has worked with Dr Lyons for a decade, held an impromptu surgery at the Eagle Medical Practice on Sunday, and said he was hoping to come to Alderney every three to four weeks.

He is working for Dr Lyons, pictured, free of charge.

Dr Lee stepped in after being contacted by patients who did not wish to transfer to the Island Medical Centre.

He also wants to stand shoulder to shoulder with his former colleague in the face of allegations that he brands 'ridiculous'.
