Taking place for more than a decade, the annual event allows members of the public a chance to see all sorts of different aircraft – from traditional planes to the specialised equipment of the Channel Islands Air Search and even a James Bond-esque looking gyrocopter.

Chairman Patrick Millar said about 150 people had visited by the halfway point and it was a chance for those with an interest to whet their appetite.

'It is difficult to get all the aviation community in one place, but here they are all together. We like people to know that we are here and we are trying to promote aviation,' he said.

'So far, the Aurigny cockpit is the most popular. It is authentic right down to the checklist, and people can see what it is like to be a Trislander pilot.'
