Police and Civil Protection were on hand to help move the mark 1 type 4 mine.

The ground mine, referred to locally as a parachute mine, was found after the recent low ormering tides.

It is believed that the mine was most likely dropped in June 1944 and is identical to the one found in Bluebell Woods in 2013.

It will now go to the Occupation Museum.
