Election 2016: evening roundup

NOMINATIONS closed for the day with seven new candidates declared.

This afternoon there was one declaration in the Castel, while this morning new names confirmed in the West, Vale, St Sampson, St Peter Port North and St Peter Port South.

It takes the total number standing for the 38 seats to 66 – 78 stood in 2012.

The nomination period ends at 4pm on Thursday.

The General Election takes place on Wednesday 27 April.

Vale: Mary Lowe, Simon De La Mare, Garry Collins, Jeremy Smithies, Dave Jones, Laurie Queripel, Matt Fallaize, Sarah Hansmann Rouxel, Neil Inder (6 seats)

St Sampson: Jane Stephens, Gavin St Pier, Jennifer Merrett, Paul Le Pelley, Lyndon Trott, Kevin Stewart, Martyn Roussel, Tony Webber, Karen Solway, Michael Beaumont, Sam Maindonald (6 seats)
