Clara Jehan, nee Robilliard, said she was not sure what the secret to her longevity was, but her relations believed it had something to do with the regular visits and natters she has with friends and family.
'I eat well,' she said.
'I do have a good laugh sometimes as well.'
Many friends and other relations also came along with cards and flowers yesterday to make it a birthday to remember.
Mrs Jehan was born in 1910 in Torteval to a family of tomato growers.
She was one of seven children, made up of six girls and a boy.
During her early childhood they spoke only Guernsey-French and Mrs Jehan did not learn English until she started at Torteval School.
The year of her birth coincided with the opening of the London Palladium music hall and Old Trafford stadium and was when George V ascended to the British throne.
