GUERNSEY bus drivers could go on strike next week, unless last- ditch talks resolve problems with duty cards changes.

A large number of drivers met on Sunday night, and voted to strike within seven days unless duty card changes were stopped and the alterations were investigated.

Talks were taking place yesterday between the drivers and the company, but Unite representative Bob Lanning said it was not yet clear whether the issue had been resolved. He said the drivers were very upset by how bus operator CT Plus had been acting.

'They are completely dissatisfied with the way the company is implementing duty card changes, which they say are financially detrimental to them,' he said.
