DEPUTY Peter Roffey stood by his criticism of Education after a committee member accused him of having a vendetta against its president Paul Le Pelley.

Education, Sport & Culture committee member Deputy Neil Inder said a media release by Deputy Roffey criticising Education's release date for their secondary school plans was not sent to deputies or any of the committee's membership.

'For reasons, I would say only known to him, but to be perfectly frank understood by everyone else inside the House and outside of the House, Deputy Roffey continues to snipe at the committee at every opportunity,' he said.

He also labelled Deputy Roffey's criticism of the draft publication date as 'a continued attack on the committee for the price of a few column inches – he just can't help himself'.

South-East Deputy Roffey said his criticism of the committee was based on profound concerns.

'It was an attack of their judgement over the release of their indicative plans, but it certainly wasn't a personal attack,' he said.
