The small team flew into the island on Sunday, with the bulk of filming taking place on Monday and yesterday.
Producer Charlotte Hindle said the show tried to plan its programmes around interesting or important dates and in this case they had decided to visit the island ahead of Liberation Day.
The show last came to Guernsey in 2004, when a number of choirs took part.
The changing format of the programme means that music from around the UK will be shown but between the songs there will be pieces about Guernsey.
'He has been terrific.
'We have been into the prison for a cookery class and made bread and cakes.'
The show will air on Sunday 7 May.
