McLaughlin joins up with Horton
GUERNSEY cyclist James McLaughlin will be joining fellow Sarnian Tobyn Horton at Madison Genesis for the 2015 season.
The team announced seven new signings for next year's roster yesterday and two of the island's Commonwealth Games team were on it.
'James had a breakthrough year in 2014 by finishing 10th in the Commonwealth Games Individual Time Trial,' said the Madison Genesis statement. 'That made him the highest placed non-world tour rider in that event – a testament to his ability to time trial.
'With a power to weight ratio equivalent to the best in the world, James is an exciting prospect when the road goes up.'
It will be Horton's second season with the team having won both the Canary Wharf stage of the Pearl Izumi Tour Series and the London Nocturne in 2014.
