GUERNSEY'S quest to bounce back into ICC World Cricket League Division Five will take them to Essex in September.

The English county has been named as host of the Division Six tournament in which the Sarnians will be one of eight teams looking to gain promotion.

'We were hoping that perhaps we would be hosting it or that it would be in Sussex where we know the grounds and the conditions, but I'm sure Essex will be great hosts,' said Guernsey captain Jamie Nussbaumer.

'What's good for us, with it not being an "away" tournament and the fact that it's in our summer, it means a week's less preparation is needed compared to if it were elsewhere in the world where we would need to acclimatise. We can just fly out a day or so before.'

Guernsey, Vanuata and Cayman Islands are already confirmed as three of the eight sides who will take part in WCL6 and there will be one qualifier from each of the five global region joining them.
