Smith missing, Boscher doubtful

OLLY SMITH has been ruled out of tomorrow's FA County Youth Cup third round clash at the home of Fareham Town. Guernsey under-18s play Hampshire for a place in the quarter-finals and the likelihood is that Jason Boscher will also sit out the game due to injury.

'I don't know if he is 50-50 or fine to be honest,' said coach Paul Ockleford yesterday, although the player is not named in the official 16-strong party.

One player who will travel, is Vale Rec striker Matt Chesters.

He is the one new addition and Ockleford says he has earned his call-up.

'Matt's done really well recently. He gives you good balance on the left and he can also be used up front.'

Ockleford said he was 'fairly confident' of a positive result and said that while Hampshire is a big county they have had some indifferent results of late.

'They lost 1-0 to Berks & Bucks and 4-0 to Wiltshire. I think they drew 3-3 last time out.'
