SYLVANS' season shows no sign of slowing both in league and the cups. The reds marched into the semi-finals of the FletcherSports Guernsey FA Cup with a 2-1 win over Vale Rec at the Corbet Field on the same day they learned they had drawn Priaulx title rivals North in the semi-final of the Jeremie Cup and Rangers in the last four of the Collins Cup.

Two goals from Neil Clegg settled the issue and it was not until the last minute that Brent Blondel pulled one back for the home side, who had defender Shaun Robert sent off in a tempestuous encounter.

Joel Avery, the Sylvans boss, said: 'We are pleased to get into the semi-finals and I think the score flattered them a bit, it should have been more.

Across the road at Northfield, North turned the tables on Bels who had hammered Geoff Tardif's side in the league at the weekend.

Two early goals by Darren Martin and Dave Rihoy propelled North into the semi-finals of the Le Vallee.

There was no shortage of excitement at FB Fields in Jersey yesterday where Hautes Capelles reached the final of the CI Junior Schools seven-a-side championships, only to lose 11-10 to De La Salle College in a penalty shootout. Beechwood placed third and Victoria College fourth in the eight-team event.

Rangers will play St Martin's in the other Jeremie Cup semi-final, while the semis draw for the Collins Cup has paired the two remaining Jersey sides, Grouville and St Peter.
