PAUL INGROUILLE and Alison Merrien both contest five finals and as much as 15 hours of bowls this weekend in the Guernsey Indoor Bowling Association finals. Ingrouille is in the finals of the singles and over-35s' singles, the kith and kin pairs with father Alf and mixed and open pairs with wife Carol.

Merrien is in the finals of the mixed and married pairs with husband Ian, open triples with brothers-in-law Alan and Paul and the open fours with Ian and Paul Merrien and John Wallis.

The weekend starts with five singles finals, ranging from under-16, where Jacob Fitch meets Thomas Mahy, to super veteran, where Norman Gavey takes on Peggy Fish.

At under-18 level, Kris Bichard faces Todd Priaulx, Paul Ingrouille faces Gary Pitschou in the over-35s and Dave Lock is up against Stan Simon in the veteran group.

Rebels, unbeaten in the late triples league this year, meet the Merrien Mafia in the open triples final.

And the Mafia are in action immediately afterwards in the fours against Raiders.

The father-and-son combination of Alf and Paul Ingrouille meet grandfather and grandson Rick Brehaut and Jacob Fitch in a kith and kin competition which truly transcends generations. Fitch is due to play in the under-16 final that day, a competition Alf Ingrouille would have last qualified for 69 years ago.

Singles events start the second day of competition, before the married pairs, Australian pairs and open pairs.

The last two finals are mixed pairs and target pairs.

Channel Island finals places are at stake in the under-35 and veteran singles and open, mixed and married pairs, open triples and open fours. Spectators are welcome at the Guernsey Bowls Stadium.
