ADAM POTTER and Monique and Simone Blanchard received the St Margaret's Lodge Hotel monthly awards for the Guernsey Schools' Tennis Club. Potter took the overall Division One title on the final day with wins over Dan Thomas and Michael Trotter and a drawn game with Matthew Longson.

'Adam has worked hard all year, he never misses a club session, plays for the club in the Fletcher Sports League and reached the final of the club doubles competition. He always sets a good example to the younger players,' said organiser Geoff Martel.

Sisters Monique and Simone shared the monthly award.

Monique won the Division Six title and reached the final of the C. G. Arrow beginners. Simone won the beginners' Road to Wimbledon competition.

'Along with Louise Dorey and Georgie Fletcher, they show great promise for the future,' said Martel.

Harry Martel was a well-deserved winner of the Division Two title from Michael Trotter, a good athlete with a solid all-round game that has improved throughout the season.

Relatively new to competitive play is David Butler who deserved his third place.

Robert Lowe took the Division Three title from Rosie Davis. He lacks the consistency required to stay in Division Two but can cause an upset when things are going well.

Jean Luc Helmot, Henry Carre and newcomer Sammy Redhead have provided quality opposition.

Divisions Four and Five have seen many players competing for the top places. Twin sisters Rosie and Alice Davis ended the respective winners.

Tom Byrom, Lucas and Marie van de Hauwaert, Freya MacAngus, Jessica Rigby and Keeleigh Le Tissier have made great progress this year, Rigby winning the club's 10-years-and-under competition recently.
