WILMA LE FEUVRE has reached a remarkable six semi-finals in the Bowls Guernsey island championships. Included in her busy schedule this weekend is her last four encounter with Anne Simon in the De Putron singles, after she defeated the reigning champion Eunice Trebert 21-8.

The other semi-final features Lyn Small and Jackie Nicolle, who conquered Alison Merrien in the previous round.

Le Feuvre is also competing in the Carre singles, super vets singles, Friend fours, Bell drawn fours and the Woodhard triples.

Gary Pitschou continues to show his dominance in the men's game by reaching both the Elliott singles and the Press singles semis along with the Traver pairs, Nicolle mixed pairs and the Tostevin triples.

In the main Elliott competition, the defending champion began at a frantic pace against Sid Le Maitre, taking 11 shots from the opening four ends before sealing a 21-4 victory after 12.

He will face Geoff Savident, who came through an epic battle with Ralph Deakin to reach this stage.

The other semi-final will be fought out between Island Games gold medallist Craig Dorey and Dave Trebert, the Guernsey representative in the experimental Europe team for the recent Test against Asia.

Jan Cleal will also have a busy weekend after reaching five semi-finals.
