IAN OZANNE'S Priaulx League side took their expected place in the last eight of the FA Cup, but not before a first-half scare against Business League outfit Corefocus. Paul Marquand's spirited side made the most of the first-half wind assistance to lead 2-1 and threaten a shock.

Rovers were back on level terms by half-time at which point their player-coach said they were playing like 'muppets', but in the second period, the visitors ran out of steam and paid the price.

Ozanne even gave himself a run out with the match won and was a far happier man at the final whistle.

'I was happy with the second half. We knew they were going to tire being a Business League team. The wind at our backs helped us too,' said Ozanne, who played the final 10 minutes.

Andy Simon had given Rovers a 1-0 lead only to see the men in orange shirts hit back with goals from Marquand and fellow striker Chris Judd.

Marquand, not so long ago a well-thought-of North junior, showed himself to be a player of Priaulx calibre, but sadly not all his colleagues can match his fitness levels.

Rovers took advantage with five second-half goals.

Simon Tostevin restored their early advantage with a 52nd minute goal from close range after the keeper, Ewing, fumbled and four minutes later the big man got his second from six yards despite a heavy first touch.

Sam Le Tissier made it 5-2 after another fumble from the keeper and Tostevin laid on the sixth for Jamie Ferbrache.

Midfielder Simon then finished the game as he had started - scoring - and Rovers could celebrate a rare win and a quarter-final appearance.

n VALE REC were the fourth Priaulx League side to put their name in the hat for the quarter-finals of the competition with a comfortable 8-0 victory over Indian Cottage at Victoria Avenue.

Jon Baudains set them on their way and two goals from Danny Bisson, one a penalty, made it 3-0 at the break.

Bisson completed his hat-trick in the second half and there were also goals for David MacNab, Stuart Bisson, Gareth Holden and Mark Ramsden.

Meanwhile, at Beau Sejour, Business League team Longport beat Courts 4-1.
