VALE REC stay second to bottom but their manager, Chris Hamon, refuses to give up hope of being in the top three by the end of the season. The trouble is, every time Vale Rec win, so do Rangers, or so it seems.

Danny Bisson hit a hat-trick at St Peter's on Saturday and had Vale enjoyed his services from the start of the campaign, they would not be languishing where they are now.

Hamon acknowledged as much.

'He's working hard in training and he's got his good head on. He could have had a couple more,' said a manager who says he's happier with the team's form and is confident they can climb the table.

'We've got games in hand, so realistically we can make the top three.'

Matt Patch gave Vale a flying start with a well-worked and taken goal after five minutes.

By half-time the visitors were 3-0 up as Bisson scored the second and Dave MacNab the third.

Bisson got both second-half strikes, the second of which came from the penalty spot and resulted in the dismissal of defender Scott Gallienne.

Junior Shaun Mills got the Sylvans goal.
