MICKY OGIER has joined the growing chorus of critics of the new FA regulations on age restrictions. Although his own club were among the GFA clubs to support the move to immediately ban Youth Threes from Youth Two football ahead of further tightening on youth players' involvement over the next two seasons, Ogier branded the rulings as 'absolute rubbish'.

'How are you supposed to bring people through with these rules in place' said Ogier, who last season introduced Billy Page and Ben Coulter into Priaulx football as 15-year-olds and is now seeing them play a telling part in the senior league.

They were arguably the two best players in Saturday's clash at the Corbet Field.

'They are two class players.'

Ironically, while the GFA press ahead with the FA-led and restrictive two-year age bands, Steve Ogier has chosen Page, now 16, in the island under-21 squad, along with two others of the same age, Sylvans' Tom Strawbridge and North's Alex Le Prevost.

Meanwhile, it's became apparent that only Vale Rec chose not to support the move to prevent Youth Threes from playing in Youth Two with immediate affect.

Bels officials thought their club would do likewise but their council delegate thought otherwise.

The blue-and-whites were soon learning the painful lessons of the move.

They had to call off a Youth Two game because, denied of the services of their Threes, they had insufficient players.
