Hale reigns in singles

THE final week of the Perfecten Open Singles League saw Chris Bellinger claim top spot from Garry Hale, while Paul Allaway took third place.

THE final week of the Perfecten Open Singles League saw Chris Bellinger claim top spot from Garry Hale, while Paul Allaway took third place. Bellinger also top-scored with 232/607, followed by Rick Lovell 218/547, Graham Bill 191/540 and Hale 191/540.

Chantelle Hale continued her domination of the Women's Open Singles League, leaving Lauren Hurford, Brenda Carre and Michelle Ward contesting second and third place in the final week.

Ward top-scored with 186/489, followed by Hurford 162/474 and Hale 180/468.

The junior league season ended with Hurford as champion of Division One.

The youngster maintained a 167 game average for the season and finished 15 points ahead of nearest rival Blake Osborne, who finished on a 171 game average.

Chantelle Hale finished third, one point behind Osborne on a 161 game average.

The top score of the final week was Osborne's 202 game and 514 series. The season's highs were Osborne's 246 game, 599 series and Hurford's 236 game, 592 series.

Sam de Carteret won Division Two by four points from Matt Daigle, with Ben Cotterill finishing in third place in his first season.

The GYBC season starts again on Saturday 9 September.
