NORTH have not won the Priaulx championship for 15 seasons, but the odds are shortening by the week that they will end the drought by the spring. As Mick Le Prevost's side won 4-0 at Sylvans on Saturday, the champions were crashing 3-0 to Vale Rec at the Track.

The gap between North and Bels is eight points and although Vale, now second, trail the leaders by just five, Chris Hamon's men have played a game more than their Grand Fort Road neighbours.

Still, North boss Mick Le Prevost was not jumping up and down at the quality of the performance.

'We had a great first goal from Dave Rihoy but our first-half performance wasn't good to be fair.

'Our football wasn't very good at all and I told them that at half-time.

'Second half, we did a lot better. We kept pushing forward and then we went and scored another three goals.

'The shape was better and everyone played better.

'We can go and have a nice Christmas.

'I'm very pleased with the result but not with the performance.

'We looked like the team that was going to win, but we're still not clinical enough in front of goal.'

At the Track, Chris Hamon saw his side unexpectedly win with two goals from Laurence Abbott and a first-half strike from Robbie Titterington.

But, arguably, the shock of the day came at Port Soif where Rovers hit back from two down to draw 2-2 with St Martin's and climb off the foot of the table.
