ROVERS are destined to collect another Priaulx League woodenspoon after Saturday's triple-header brought wins for champions North, Vale Rec and, unexpectedly, Rangers over the 2005/6 title-winners, Bels. At Port Soif, North eased past Rovers 4-0, the goals coming courtesy of Jon Veron, Alex Le Prevost and two from Dave Rihoy.

'It was alright but it was a real end of season game,' said North coach Mick Le Prevost.

'It was one of those games where everybody went out there and enjoyed it. We did our job.

'We went out there and got the points. We need to pick it up though as the boys are going through the motions.

'We've got two big games now with Trinity in the Jeremie next week and then Jersey Scottish in the Upton the week after.'

Le Prevost had actually started himself in a striker's role and played for 60 minutes. But his son Alex was not too full of praise for his dad's performance.

'It was like putting a cone up front,' he said.

At the Corbet Field, Vale Rec took a 4-1 lead against a young Sylvans side through goals from James Coquelin, Gareth Holden, Anthony Austen and Mark Romeril. The westerners scored two late goals to give the yellows a scare before the final whistle.

'We gave away two silly goals with five or six minutes to go,' said Rec's assistant coach Johnny Reid, who was standing in for Chris Hamon. At the Track, Rangers beat Bels 3-0.
