SIMON TOSTEVIN was the main man at the Guernsey Football Association's Awards dinner at Crabby Jacks last night, picking up both the player of the year and, the big one, the players' award. In his first season for North, the 24-year-old, 6ft 4in. striker netted 31 goals to help the chocolate-and-blues claim their first Priaulx title since 1992.

'I'm really pleased and it's brilliant that the people that I play against recognised how I contributed to the success of North over the season,' he said.

The other big winners were Michelle Le Prevost, who won the women's award and Matt Loaring, who took the overall youth players player of the year trophy, along with Youth Two one.

Absent North boss Mick Le Prevost was crowned coach of the year and Pete Davison was named top referee.

The awards were presented by top ref Graham Poll.
