ARSENAL and Everton are back again for the weekend's BWCI Guernsey Mini Soccer Festival. 'It remains a real boost for mini soccer in Guernsey to host the Arsenal and Everton Academy sides,' said the island's football development officer, Chris Pringle.

'It will provide a great opportunity for local teams to compete at a higher level and to provide a benchmark for player development.'

Along with Arsenal and Everton, there are 14 other teams taking part. North, St Martin's, Sylvans, Rovers, Vale Rec and Rangers are representing Guernsey.

A large contingent is coming over from Jersey with Jersey Scottish, Jersey Wanderers, St Paul's, St Peter, St Clement, Grouville and Rozel Rovers all playing.

And Northamptonshire outfit Finedon Victoria are also returning. The event is at Foote's Lane and the Memorial Field.

Each team has seven players with eight minutes a half and play takes place across a normal size football pitch.

The action kicks off at 1pm tomorrow with the day's last game starting at 4pm.

Sunday begins at 10am, with the final for the Rothschild Shield and Rothschild Plate planned to take place in front of the Garenne Stand at 2pm.
