Le Page, 18, gets call-up

GUERNSEY'S six-strong bowls selectors have included an 18-year-old among their new caps for next month's Le Quesne Trophy inter-insulars. He is North's Michael Le Page and, along with Vale Rec's Peter Tranter, wins his first cap. The new addition to the women's squads is Yolanda Young.

The annual matches are to be played on Saturday 1 September.

The men will play at the Vale Rec's Corbet Field green and the women on the Northern Bowling Association's Delancey Park surface.

By way of a warm-up, the island women take on the men Sunday at the Corbet Field.
