NORTH extracted the sweetest of revenge over Jersey Scottish at Northfield. The Guernsey champions lost to their Jersey counterparts in the Centenary Upton at the end of last season, but in their first meeting since Mick Le Prevost's side totally dominated the proceedings in their Jeremie Cup quarter final on Saturday.

'Brilliant - at the start of the day when I saw their line up I didn't expect us to win 5-0,' said the North boss afterwards.

'We fully deserved to the win the game. This is the competition we want to win.

'We won it last year and we want to win it again. Today we had seven chances and we scored five.

'That's been a big problem, getting the ball in the back of the net, but Craig Young and Jamie Ferbrache have started to get an understanding now. I'm pleased for both of them.

'They both worked hard and they both scored goals. I'm always pleased when my strikers score goals.'

Ferbrache was the star as he bagged his first competitive hat-trick for the club.

The 24-year-old has not had the best of starts to his North career after joining from Rovers during the summer.

Naturally, he was delighted with his first competitive hat-trick for his new club.

'For the first couple of league games I got low ratings and it does knock your confidence,' he said afterwards.

'My goal against Rec last week gave me some confidence and with getting that first league goal hopefully it will be the same going forward.

And it was good today getting the hat trick but a 5-0 win over them is even better.'

Ferbrache scored North's opening goal in the first 10 minutes with a tap-in at the near post after Darren Martin had produced some good work down the right flank.

North ran the show against a Jersey Scottish that was without island stalwarts such as Dave Brodie and Ali Santos, but they still had established names such as Ross Crick, Jack Boyle, James Scott and Paul Aitken.

The home side's second came from Ferbrache five minutes before half-time and Dyer then got the third two minutes later when Scottish's defence were ball watching and he cut round the back to put the ball home.

Ferbrache should have wrapped his hat-trick on the stroke of half time when he was one on one with Carlos Fletcher but his shot went straight to the keeper.

But he did not have to wait long for his treble.

Just after the restart he scored the best of the three when he rose for header that flew into the corner of the goal.

Things started to get tetchy as Matt Walsh was happy to let play go in the face of some nasty tackles.

The midfield battle between North's Gavin Le Page and Scott was particularly heated.

But Scott was probably the one Scottish player, along with Boyle, who could be pleased with his day.

North's fifth came after the hour mark when Young executed a perfect spin and shot which Fletcher could do nothing about. It was a great piece of individual skill.

Dyer had worked tirelessly down the left side all game and was replaced with 10 minutes to go. He was North's best player.

Home keeper Richard Davey was tested for the first time in the match right on 90 minutes when he scrambled across the goal to deal with a low Boyle shot.

Luckily for Davey, it went just wide as Walsh blew for full time shortly afterwards.

Scottish boss Pat Brennan could still see the funny side after having watched his young side take a heavy defeat.

'They were four breakaway goals and one that was offside,' he joked.

'We just didn't have the presence today.

'We're asking 16-year-old boys to do men's jobs.

'But saying that, North were very good.

'They were excellent and they look like being the champions of Guernsey again.'
