ONE Guernseyman really has the Midas touch. Twenty-nine-year-old Ross Le Brun scratched his way to £20,000 on a lucky winning lottery ticket – and has big plans for his unexpected windfall.

Mr Le Brun (pictured) was already having a good day. He won a meal for four on an Island FM competition and decided to stop off at Tozers newsagents on the way to collect his weekly boxing magazine.

'I picked up four Midas Touch scratch cards while I was there and the last one revealed I had won £20,000,' said Mr Le Brun, who used to work at Guernsey Electricity.

'I only ever buy scratch cards when I pop in on a Friday. It was more a relief than excitement, to be honest. My family were chuffed to bits because I recently lost my job. Everything we were struggling with before can now be sorted out,' he said.
