HEATHER WATSON will have to wait until this evening before she finds out who she will face in tomorrow's first round of the $25,000 Caversham Ladies International tournament in Jersey.
The 16-year-old Guernsey star is making only her second professional senior appearance and was given a wild card entry into the main competition.
The draw for the main event will happen after the qualifying rounds have finished later today at Les Ormes Indoor Tennis Centre.
Watson, the world junior number 14, has been in Jersey ahead of her opening match which will take place on centre court at 7.15pm.
'I'm really happy to be here and I'm so glad that I've been given a wild card,' she said.
'It's so great to be home. There's a lot media attention, probably because I'm a Channel Islander, but it's got to be done.
'I did some TV stuff yesterday and a radio guy spoke to me as well.'
Watson has had a great six months that saw her claim gold at the Commonwealth Youth Games in India, win her first ITF tournament in Mexico and then reach the quarter-finals of the Australian Junior Open in January.
