The Investec-sponsored tournament is being played at the Guernsey Tennis Centre in Longcamps over three weekends, with the finals set for Sunday.
On the second weekend, matches got closer as the tournament reached the quarter- and semi-final stages.
Highlights included the women's semi-finals where 17-year-old Jo Dyer beat experienced island player Chantelle Frith in a hard-fought match 6-4, 6-3.
Long-standing island champion Jo Robinson, who remains unbeaten in the tournament over many years, had one of her toughest matches in recent times against up and coming junior Georgina Denton.
Fifteeen-year-old Denton matched her coach game for game in the first set, but experience told and Robinson came through 6-4, 6-2.
In the men's B singles event, 16-year-old Ben Inder showed much promise in reaching the semi-final where he was beaten by Bob Strappini 6-4, 6-0.
In the upper half of the draw Todd Priaulx is to play against Oli Shier, after coming through in a championship tiebreak against 12-year-old future star Jack Oldfield.
