She has already eased through two qualifying rounds but today needs to beat American Julia Boserup, ranked 564 in the world, to win a place in the main draw.
In the past couple of days the Guernsey star, 17, has beaten Emily Newton, of the USA, 6-3, 6-1 and Eva Pigova, of the Czech Republic, 6-2, 6-2.
Only eight qualifiers go through to the main draw and Watson is seeded 14, those seedings determined by world rankings.
