Vacancy not filled

KRISTINA NEVES will still not be going to the Commonwealth Games although the swim team is now one light.

Freestyle specialist Jeremy Osborne has dropped out of the original six-man squad due to his fledgling naval career. But it is understood the Guernsey Amateur Swimming Association has no plans to replace him with young Neves who attained several consideration standard times with some brilliant performances at last week's British Gas National Age-Group Championships.

GASA have made no public comments since this week's criticism of the Commonwealth selection process by Bruno Neves, the starlet's father.

And yesterday Peter Sirett, chairman of the Guernsey Commonwealth Games Association, declined to comment on the issue.
