ANDY PRIAULX'S first visit to the Surfers Paradise street race ended with him being crowned the top international driver.

The Sarnian was the highest placed international driver in the first of the two 300 kilometre races in the Armor All Gold Coast 600 on Saturday after finishing second in the Team Vodafone Holden Commodore he was sharing with Craig Lowndes.

In the second of races yesterday, the triple world champion and his team-mate Lowndes came 10th.

After winning the Internationals Trophy for being the best of the 18 invited international drivers Priaulx said: 'I have had a total blast this weekend and can't put into words just how amazing this event is.'
