Munro, Neves star in Jersey
MILES MUNRO was the star performer among the Barracudas contingent at the big AIB Tigers Autumn Open Meet at Les Quennevais in Jersey.
MILES MUNRO was the star performer among the Barracudas contingent at the big AIB Tigers Autumn Open Meet at Les Quennevais in Jersey.
But the outstanding swimmer of the day was Guernsey Swimming Club's Kristina Neves (pictured), who won 11 events and chalked up seven meeting records.
The two Sarnians duly won the best boy and girl accolades.
Competing at the bottom of the 14/15 age group, one of the most outstanding performances of the meet came from Munro who dominated the freestyle events claiming gold in the 50, 100, 200 and 400 freestyle – the latter distance earning him Top Boy Award for best swim of the meet with his highest scoring FINA points.
