Parfit slashes his PB on way to impressive victory

A PERSONAL best time by more than 43 seconds ensured an excellent win in the 12/13 age group for Harry Parfit in the 400m individual medley event of the Specsavers Series staged by the Beau Sejour Barracudas Swimming Club.

Gaining the advantage on his favoured stroke, the four lengths backstroke, he was able to hold onto his lead to take the title in 5min. 34.85sec.

Second-placed William Mansell recorded 5-47.29 improving on his best by over 12 seconds, while knocking nearly 40 seconds off his personal best secured a well-earned third place for Rory Chamberlain in 6-14.13.

Fastest swim of the meet for the boys came from Thomas Hollingsworth, who recorded a time of 4-46.25 with 15-year-old Lotte Parfit managing to secure her six points in the series, despite a break from training, recording a time of 5-40.93.
