THE exciting DTM series in Germany is the most likely next stopping off point for Andy Priaulx.

The Guernseyman caught everyone on the hop when he announced on Sunday that he was leaving the world touring car championship series which he has won three times.

While it has not been confirmed, the Sarnian looks odds-on to be a BMW works driver in the highly acclaimed Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM).

And if things work out as he hopes he will join that highly-popular championship, regarded as second only to F1 in terms of stature, in the 2012 season.

'If I am chosen it'll be the biggest thing that's happened in my career,' said Priaulx.
