JANE ASHER dominated the weekend with eight new world records at the 20th OCS Open International Guernsey Masters Meet.
A regular visitor to the island having been to the first meet in 1992, the 80-year-old from Kings Cormorants Club in London entered 10 events at Beau Sejour and began in terrific style, lowering the 400m freestyle world record for the 80-84 age group by almost a minute, clocking 6min. 34.92sec.
Her record-breaking run continued throughout the weekend as she added seven more world standards in her new age category to go with the 11 she still holds in the 75-79 group and two in the 70-74 bracket.
Of the local swimmers, Ian Powell was in sparkling form, setting three new all-comers' pool records.
