THE start of the Bank Holiday hill climb survived the weather but ultimately the gale-propelled rain spelled an early end for racing.
The combination of the wet and debris being blown off the trees meant that, after three timed runs, Le Val des Terres was declared too treacherous to continue racing and by then the marshals were drenched.
'It wasn't fair on them,' admitted John Dunne, who gave an outing to his impressive new acquisition, the Relentless Honda Prelude, but went home without an official time after he was given a red light on his only timed run.
Dunne said it was the right decision to end the Guernsey Motorcycle and Car Club competition early with Paul Le Messurier having clocked the fastest time of the day with an impressive 30.82sec. just before the rain came pouring down.
