Priaulx on the podium at Spa

ANDY PRIAULX finished on the podium in the Spa-Francorchamps 1,000 kilometre race.

The Guernsey driver had a problem-free day at the Belgian circuit and proclaimed himself happy with the race which was very much part of the preparations for the Le Mans 24 Hours.

Priaulx shared the BMW M3 GT drive with Uwe Alzen and the GTE Pro-category had no less than 25 entries, but the pair in their BMW Team Schnitzer car still managed to finish third in class.

"This was a great event for our Le Mans preparations, Priaulx said after the six-hour race over 144 laps of the 7.004 kilometre circuit. 'We are delighted with the reliability of the car, which is of paramount importance.

'Also only being 13 seconds behind the class winner was not bad at all.'
