INVESTIGATIONS are continuing today after an Alderney Shipping cargo vessel ran aground in Littlehampton.
The 60-metre MV Mungo got stuck across the entrance to the Sussex harbour at 3.10pm on Wednesday. Attempts by tugs to tow it off failed and the cargo vessel was finally refloated early yesterday.
Iain Hillion-Phillips of the Alderney Shipping Company said it was still looking into the incident.
'She's proceeding to Shoreham, where she will be assessed and inspected tomorrow,' he said yesterday.
