JOHN DUNNE'S decision to spread his not inconsiderable wings is paying off.
The big man, who enjoyed an outstanding 2010 campaign, has taken his very familiar blue Escort away to Jersey and the UK and neither trip was wasted.
'Having raced saloons locally for 23-plus years I thought I would spread my wings this year and try some different venues,' he said this week.
'I went to Jersey for the Lib Day hillclimb and brought back the Jersey class record to Guernsey having lowered it by over two seconds. I then went back for the National Hillclimb in July and lowered the record even further and the up to 1400cc saloon record is now faster than the 2000cc saloon record.
