Priaulx's unable to get a grip

A LACK of grip at the start of the race knocked Andy Priaulx's chance of a podium finish in the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup race at Silverstone.

A LACK of grip at the start of the race knocked Andy Priaulx's chance of a podium finish in the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup race at Silverstone.

He and driving partner Uwe Alzen had to settle for fourth after starting on the front row of the grid.

It was Priaulx's comeback race after surgery in the summer to remove a benign lump from his thyroid gland.

'I think today we got the maximum out of a difficult race. It would have been nice to finish my comeback in the BMW M3 GT on the podium – especially at Silverstone – but fourth was all we could do today.'
