THE solid sands of Vazon could be the ideal surface for sidecar racers more used to speedway or grass tracks to show their skills, according to one of the sport's leading exponents.
Rich Moore and his passenger Rob Winspear were one of four combinations in the island to give the west coast beach a test with a view to it staging a British championship round next year at the Condor Sand Ace meeting.
'It's early days,' said Moore, after the first of their trial races, 'but it's looking good so far.'
Moore and his partner normally ride on shale speedway tracks.
