However, there was better news for BMW as a podium finish for their other car at Petit Le Mans at the Road Atlanta track saw them clinch three titles.
'It's a shame for the team that we seemed to have had one of those races,' Priaulx said after the 10-hour race.
'We had a good chance for the lead then, as darkness fell, we had a rear suspension vibration that held us in the pits too long.'
