West hot favourite for the new class

A NEW class has been created to mark the start of a new season of motorcycle trials.

The expert and clubman categories remain, but with an influx of new riders joining the sport, an extra novice premier class has been created which involves each rider completing a combination of both the novice and clubman sections.

Club chairman Andy Benstead said it was very important for the club to grow its membership.

'The creation of a new class will allow the advanced novice riders to take a step towards the more technical clubman classes and let the newer riders compete on an even keel with other novices.'
