PETE LE PAGE was expected to stay the night in hospital after crashing on the fastest section of the Petit Bot time-trial on Saturday.
Both Le Page and his KTM machine, which had set a new 251 to 350cc class record on his previous run, finished 10ft up a grass verge after he lost control at about 75mph approaching the hairpin at the top of the straight on the first section of the 840-yard long and narrow course.
The crash knocked him out and he was still drifting in and out of consciousness as he was taken away by ambulance.
The early afternoon accident caused a delay of approaching half-an-hour and for the remainder of the meeting there was great concern for his welfare.
