THE Education Department has apologised for not yet telling parents which primary school their children will be starting in September.

The department's website states that 'parents will be informed of their allocated primary school by the Friday of the week before the end of spring term'.

That was 22 March, but the department missed its own deadline. Parents had been asked to submit a form giving their preferred school by 15 February or risk their child being sent to another school, as happened with La Houguette last year.

It had 33 children in a pre-enrolment programme, but only 27 were registered officially and those not registered had to attend other schools, leaving some parents angered at the news.
